As I am one to try out corrective measures BEFORE I need them. I am running Windows 7 Professional x64 with NIS. I try out NPE from time to time. It came up with the error code: 0x80004005,n4D,n26.
I am not running this for a specific issue other that for worrying about the time when there will be issues. Still this might be one... Is it?
Can you please upload the NPETraceSession.etl and NPETraceSessionBoot.etl files from C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\NPE folder for us to analyse the issue?
I will try to attach them...Thanks for any advise! BTW - I had to change the "ELT" to a "valid" upload extension ie "txt, log, lue, pdf"
I changed the elt to log... You might note this to whoever if you want "elt" to be "valid". NPETraceSessionBoot fits... size restriction... NPETraceSession does not.
I zipped the NPETraceSession.etl file. I will try to attach it. And... it needs to be renames as well... zip to log... So you will have to rename and then unzip it.
Yes. I have had disk F as a USB drive. It was and is not generally accessed. I am surprised it showed as a issue. Do I need to clear out old "elt" files to get a clean clear record for your analysis?
Did you change NPE settings to store the logs to F:\? You can review the current settings by clicking on 'Settings' link on the NPE UI. You will find the location of the log file under the Log Settings section.
Thanks!! Changing that setting fixed the error issue. The setting must have been changed in the process of trying to get NBRT to work from a USB drive. I did not guess that the setting on the USB drive might affect the setting of NPE on the boot drive. I would hope that the error message might be more helpful. No matter, thanks for the help!
BTW - I did recheck my "F" thumb drive made by NBRTwizard and although it does work to boot and check not using NPE. If you do try to use NPE it still comes up with the error finding system path 0x80045006.0. It least the normal version works now. Thanks.
