Hi,

When was the last time you ran live update and have you rebooted since?

Thanks

Hi learner44,

A quick followup question - does the Windows User Account you are using have admin rights?

Sorry to be so long in answering. My user account has admin privileges.I,ve ran live update and rebooted since.

I'm having the same problem and I also have admin rights.  The other buttons (Performance,Home, etc) are fine. I'm working on a Win8 notebook.  This is really strange and I'm wondering if it's exclusive to Win8 PC's.

I'm wondering if I uninstalled and reinstalled, would this fix it.

Hi learner44,

Let's start with running the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool this will uninstall and reinstall an activated copy of your NIS.  You will still have to run the LiveUpdate (rebootingif requested) until you specifically see the "no update found".  If you do not see the following, cntinue with LiveUpdate until you do:

Please let us know the results.

Thanks for your reply.I've done what you said and the settings button is now working o.k.The only thing is action center is now telling me that under the virus protection heading, virus protection is turned off,-but under network and spyware,NIS is turned on.Could you please help me to solve this.Thanks.

Managed to fix it.Microsoft community suggested it was caused by Windows Update K2756872.When I uninstalled this update, everything was o.k.again.I reinstalled it again and everything is now ok and action centre showing no current issues detected. Thanks again for all your help.

Thanks for the feedback learner44, especially the info on the Windows Update - that may prove helpful to someone in the future.

Glad I could help out.

Can you verify the Windows update number. I an unable to Google that number.

Hi peterweb,

It appears to be a Windows 8 Update under KB2756872

Thanks Yank

I figured it might be that one, but there had been no specific mention of Norton products.

My apologies for giving the wrong number.
