We have recently changed cell phone carriers. The old company had unlimited data plans. With the new company, all data plans are capped.
We've never had to worry about the amount of data they we use. Not that we abuse it (far from it), but we do have multiple laptops. All run NIS.
When we are out and about, on vacation, whatever, we connect our laptops to the internet via the carrier.
Before we leave home we run Live Update so that it doesn't download a ton of data as soon as we fire up the laptops. And _usually_ it even works, lol.
What are the optimum settings so that NIS doesn't hammer our data plan cap but we're still secure?
