The new PC Mag’s (deserved) rave review of NIS 2011 mentions the spam filter as the weak link in the suite – no better, and possibly slightly worse, than the performance of NIS 2010. This is my experience, too. I installed 2011 on Sept. 1 and it has caught just over 60% of spam messages since then. Of course I reclassify each missed message to train the filter, but even new spam that is extremely similar to what it’s already missed is missed again. (I’m running Outlook Express on XP, by the way.) What are others’ experiences with this feature?
