A couple of days ago I updated NIS 12 on my Asus G50v Notebook and my desktop computer and turn out to be a big headache and disappointment. I've been a loyal NIS user for several years but now I'm very disappointed about Norton releasing a product with bugs and features that are not ready for prime time. The Asus utilities in my notebook stopped working after installation and Norton Power Eraser detected one of them as a rootkit! I made the mistake of syncing my vault with the Norton web page which seemed to be a good idea but turned out to be a nightmare. Logging on to the web site took an infinite time (waited for about 20 min and quit). I don't know if it was a bandwith problem with the web site or just a bug. The person in tech support made me waste about one hour of my time uninstalling Norton Utilities 15 and then reinstalling the update and the problem persisted. So much to say for cheap outsourcing of tech support.
I uninstalled the update and went back to NIS 12. I may have to find an alternative to NIS when my license expires. I feel I was beta testing for Symantec.
