NIS Ver: 16.7.2.10 "Service Terminated Unexpectedly"

I've noticed that NIS service has recently began to stop uncommanded. I manually restarted the service, but it would stop again after a few minutes.

 

I checked the WinXP event log and its reporting Errors "The Norton Internet Security service terminated unexpectedly".

 

I looked back through the event log to the first NIS Error, and it shows it occuring imediately after a LiveUpdate service event on 22Aug09 (+10GMT).

 

Can anyone please help??

This may be due to the installation of 16.7 patch. Try to run the hotfix from the following Support Article (eventhough the error message is different) :

If the problem persists, better uninstall the 16.7 version using Norton Removal Tool and then install the 16.5 version. The 16.7 patch will be available to you on a later time.
