I have Malwarebytes 1.75 (free version which does not load and run in background) and NIS 20.3.1.22 on my system.
Network security experts universally recommend a mult-pronged approach and almost universally recommend Malwarebytes to be co-resident with whatever other security software one might have. I have used it for some years now and Malwarebytes has found a few threats that NIS did not, including one trojan which infected our entire network and finally could only be beat down by downloading a standalone removal tool (from Symantec), shutting down all systems, and running the removal tool on each before putting them back to work. I will not run a Windows system without it.
Recently, NIS has begun complaining about Malwarebytes. A Norton "Autofix" window pops up, says "We have detected conflicting products" and wants to uninstall Malwarebytes. It should be obvious by now that I have no intention of complying.
I would like to know two things, if anyone can help:
- Why does NIS suddenly think there is a conflict?
- How do I make this popup stop popping up?
Thanks.
