NIS Web Login aka Password Manager

Hello.

I was wondering if anyone has ran into this issue, or if symantec knows about it.

When using the built in Password Manager within NIS 2010, it seems to work for the most part pretty well. I have experience with the old Password Manager 2004 program, and the latest RoboForm also.

My concearn is about having multiple logins for one page. For example; my local cable company has given me two login accounts because i run a business out of my home and i have both business and residential services through them. Another example is paypal. I have a couple different accounts on paypal that i log in and out of on a regular basis.

The Web Login program allows me to save each accounts credentials within itself. I can veryify this by opening NIS 2010, and clicking Logins. However, im never given a choice on which login to use when i go to a page. So if i saved a couple of different logins for paypal, it never asks me which one to use. It just fills the login information with whichever account i logged into last. If i change which account i want to use (by manually typing it in) NIS doesnt ask me to save the credentials (since its already in there). The funny part is if i type another account manually and mis-type my password, NIS will ask me if i want to update the login credentials for that page. Ive tried deleting all my credentials within NIS, and re-doing them but that doesnt help either.

Im trying to be as detailed as possible here, but the jiist is that when you have multiple credentials for one webpage (im sure paypal would be a popular example) your never given an option to select which credentials to use. This doesnt appear to be a bug or anything. The feature itself just doesnt seem to be there. However i could be mistaken about that.

Thats one thing that RoboForm does that makes me want to start using it again.. but then it frustrates me to think i need another program to do something NIS should be doing anyway.

Hopefully this can be resolved..

Thanks very much for your time.

Ahh yes, i didnt know that this was there within the toolbar. I never used the Norton Toolbar, and usually have it disabled. I just enabled it, and saw exactly what your saying. Seemed to work..

However, with how much toolbar clutter there is these days, it would be benefecial and nice if Norton automatically popped up a small window asking you which credentials to use. Then you could just click which one and be done with it. This is what RoboForm does. Not only would this be a nicer feature, and not be crammed in a long list of saved passwords, but it would also save many users from having to be dependent on the toolbar.

Hopefully this is something that Norton / Symantec atempt to add to thier product. It would definetely be nice in my opinion then the way its set-up now.

Thanks very much for your time.

CTschantz,

There is an option to display all the logins for the site. From Norton toolbar, go to Manage->Settings->Identity Safe Options-Configure->Display all logins  ...Please check this option. This will display all the logins you saved for a site and you can just select a login whichever you want to fill.

Please let's know if this works.

Karthik

Genius!! Exactly what i was looking for! Now i can disable the toolbar again, and it does exactly what i want! Im glad i posted this question because i never would have found that option within the program.

Thank you very much for all your help!!
