Does NIS10 optimizer defrags by computer? If so, is it necessary to run WIndows Defragmenter in addition to the norton optimizer.
The Optimizer simply launches the built-in Windows defragmenter tool for the boot volume - once every day.
It would follow that it isn't necesarry to manually launch the tool. However, the Windows schedule launches defragmentation for all volumes on the system and should be left on.
Does it do this auto ? I havent noticed it , And can it be turned off because Perfect Disk 10 looks after my drives.
If you mean NIS 2010 Optimiser: it will do it auto when your computer is idle. You can turn it off by opening NIS, going to “Settings” under “Computer”, then going to “Miscellaneous Settings,” and then turning Idle Time Optimizer off.

You're welcome :-)
So is there a need to run Windows Defragmenter?

I would keep both the Optimizer and Windows Defragmenter on. It's good to defrag your system regularly and thoroughly.
