He is clearly talking about NIS 2013 and I guess you understood that too. Just another thread about NIS 2013's scans not working on Windows 8. Pretty common these days...
@ Dick, yes I did upgrade to the latest version of NIS 13 but all of these issues were caused by NIS 13. As soon as I uninstalled NIS all the problems went away which to me means that there isn't a malware problem.
I also run Malwarebytes antimalware which although not 100% effective hasn't thrown up any malware.
Unfortunately reading the other posts I don't think I am alone with this problem. What annoys me is that NIS 13 clearly states it's Win 8 compatible and it's not as far as I am concerned. All I have on my computer is two internet browsers (Chrome, Firefox), MS Office, Malwarebytes and VLC. I don't see why NIS would be incompatible with these programs and Windows 8.
