NIS13 scan not working Windows 8 OS

Hello

Everytime I uinstall NIS 13, it works for a while and then:

- the scan doesn't work (although LiveUpdate does),

- it makes my internet browser (Chrome) very slow,

- it makes Firefox freeze,

- it doesn't allow VLC media player to run,

- it occasionally disappears from the Windows tray

- it doesn't allow the NRnR program to run

When I eventually manage to uninstall it, all the non-Norton issues all resolve themselves.

Any suggestions as it's disappointing that this keeps happening? I had the latest version of NIS 13 on 23/02/2013 at 1400 GMT.

He is clearly talking about NIS 2013 and I guess you understood that too. Just another thread about NIS 2013's scans not working on Windows 8. Pretty common these days...

Yes ... 'fraid so ... :smileyfrustrated:

@ Dick, yes I did upgrade to the latest version of NIS 13 but all of these issues were caused by NIS 13. As soon as I uninstalled NIS all the problems went away which to me means that there isn't a malware problem.

I also run Malwarebytes antimalware which although not 100% effective hasn't thrown up any malware.

Unfortunately reading the other posts I don't think I am alone with this problem. What annoys me is that NIS 13 clearly states it's Win 8 compatible and it's not as far as I am concerned. All I have on my computer is two internet browsers (Chrome, Firefox), MS Office, Malwarebytes and VLC. I don't see why NIS would be incompatible with these programs and Windows 8.
