[NIS2008] Problem with slow Google websites

Hi,

I'm using Norton Internet Security 2008, and I have a strange problem with all Google websites (gmail, search, maps, ect.), for exemple, when I do a search with Google, the page can load instantly, and then when I try to go to page 2 of the results, the page load after 1 minute or more, without apparing reason... (I have a fast ADSL connection).

I dont have this problem when I disable my firewall, so it seems to be a problem with the firefall.

Is there a solution to my problem ? maybe like configuring my firewall to trust google sites ?

Thanks :)

Hi kamui

have you tried a full system scan to rule out any virus or malware?

Hi,

Yes I tryed, no virus found...

But I dont think its a virus problem, it seems more to be a firewall problem.

Hi kamui -

Why are you running NIS 2008?

Here is a link for a *free* update* to NIS 2009 - CLICK ME.

There are many changes - and it will be much better in terms of system resources.

Try it.

P.S. They days remaining on your existing subscription will be carried over to the new release.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks but I have tryed NIS 2009 some months ago, and I didnt like it, mainly because the firewall is 100% automatic and I didnt find the possibility to configure all my softs manually...

Anyone having the same problems with Google ?

Hi kamui -

Are you *sure* that your router is properly configured?

The NIS 2009  "Smart Firewall" settings should be just fine.

The technology moves forward, not backward! Obviously, there is a problem which needs to be addressed.

Did you look at your browser Privacy settings, as well?

BTW - I never had these problems with Google.

What browser are you using to connect to Google, and what add-ons and plug-ins do you have running?  I think that if you can connect, it probably isn’t the firewall, but possibly a conflict in antiphishing, or other protections that add to the time to load.

Hi -

delphinium might have a point.

One other thing that I would like to suggest, is to empty your browser cache and delete all temporary internet files.

See if there is a change.

NIS 2009 (itself) is *not* the problem. You really should be running NIS 2009.

We can work the problem once installed, if it continues.
