Since 8/16, NIS has been blocking me from launching NU14.0. When I click the program, nothing happens. When I review the Security History in NIS2009, it shows an “Unauthorized access blocked”, and “(Open Process Token)”. The details show the Actor as “…\windows defender\msmpend.exe” and the Target as “…\Norton Utilities 14\nu.exe”. I don’t see NIS listing NU as a blocked activity nor Windows Defender. WD is turned off. Symantec chat support kept trying to tell me it was a default setting and pointing me to the AntiSpam controls. I have not tried reinstalling NU, since that usually means using the removal tool which would also remove NIS.
