I have a "friend" that is running Incredimail as their email client. I recommended that they install NIS2010 which they did.
I noticed that upon starting Incredimail that the AntiSpam toolbar was not automatically integrated into the Incredimail client UI (like it is with Outlook, etc.).
Does this mean that the Incredimail client is not supported by Symantec?
What will NIS2010 do to support the use of Incredimail (as far as preventing Spam and Virus in Incredimail)?
Thanks,
Hello dreavis,
Only the following e-mail clients are supported as copied below from the "System Requirements" section of this page:
Thanks for the replies.
I pretty much suspected that Incredimail was not a supported client. I use Outlook but my friend wants to go the cutesy route. They'll just have to use the Incredimail Anti-Spam tool - however useful it might be.
Ciao
Hello
The ISP may have a spam detector also which may be useful.

Not necessarily. Norton AntiSpam works independently of the email client. Support for a particular email client only refers to integration of the toolbar, buttons, Norton Spam folder, etc. If Norton AntiSpam is enabled it will still identify suspected spam with a [Norton AntiSpam] tag. Therefore it is possible to manually create a Norton AntiSpam folder (or you can use the client's Junk folder) and configure a filter rule in the email client ot move spam that is tagged by Norton into such a folder. See this post for more information:

Thanks for your info. I guess we'll just have to see if NIS2010 flags some mail as spam and then take the appropriate action using a filter, etc. (if Incredimail supports filters). The toolbar integration was what I was really hoping for but that does not look possible at this point.
Hi dreavis,
Yes, I'm afraid you're out of luck on the toolbar. If Incredimail has a Junk folder Norton should deposit anything it detects as spam into that folder automatically. So be sure to check there if nothing shows up in the Inbox.
