I'm brand new here and it's my 1st post. Unfortunately it is driven by necessity as I've a problem with NIS2010. I've run NIS since '08 and been happy, especially with NIS2009 (which I may have to revert to!). The issue is that everything works just fine with NIS2010 for me (even faster than'09) but NIS2010 will crash IE8 whenever I run the Norton Toolbar. Specifically, it is "Symantec NCO BHO" and "Symantec Intrusion Protection". I run Win XP Pro SP3 (latest updates too), 2GB RAM, P4 3.2GHz & run a very clean machine and I have trial & errored this NIS2010 with & without the tool bar until I'm sick of it so I know it is definitely the toolbar causing the browser to crash. The tab recovers a few times but then gives up.
The crash can be initiated by running a video (on CNBC for example) or simply typing in a search on google. I have searched the web high and low for an answer but there is nothing, even on Symantecs support site. PLEASE, can anyone offer any idea what may be happenning. I've ran a registry cleaner (the best - JV16), CCleaner & defraged with 'Perfect Disk' and made sure everything else is ship shape. Everything on the machine is just fine - except for IE8 when toolbar is run. I really don't want to revert to '09 and have to wait for Symantec to fix this. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?
Incidentally, it happenned while I was writing this, with toolbar on. Just by placing cursor and hitting the spacebar . . .
