NIS2010 NE, and PP, to NIS2011 + Subs due...

Hi all,

Been a while since I've been in-forum, so I'm not up-to-date with anything, but have a number of questions I could with answers to ASAP:

The Situation: Have both NIS2010 Netbook Edition and Performance Pack, with Subscription renewals due in 30 days (slightly more on PP), and NIS2011 Upgrade(s) available (for sure on Netbook Edition, but Performance Pack copy is installed on a currently dead PC that I'll probably not be able to get running before the subscription is due).

The Questions:

What's the best order to do things in?

Upgrade first, renewal second?

Or the other way round?

Will the 'Netbook Edition' remain 'Netbook Edition' after the upgrade?

If not, how will that affect performance, and so on?

Is it possible to download an upgrade zip/exe/iso for either the Performance Pack, or the Netbook Edition?

If not, what's the procedure when reinstalling an upgraded version, from the previous version's install media (I have NE on usb-stick)?

Will it automatically upgrade itself on the first LiveUpdate after re-install?

Or will it be a case of manually upgrading it, by clicking on a link in a 'There is an upgrade available' popup?

Also, whether it's a reinstall or not, is there a way to 'force' the upgrade popup to appear (I dismissed the first one I saw and I haven't seen another one :S)?

Or, failing that, is there another way to 'force' the upgrade to start?

Lastly, I know I can renew my Performance Pack subscription my Norton Account, but, if I do that, will, once I get that PC working again, it offer me the upgrade to 2011?

Or, will I be stuck with Performance Pack 2010?

And, finally, assuming I will be able to upgrade to Performance Pack 2011 in the future, will it upgrade both NIS and NU?

(Is there even a newer NU?)

Any and all answers, suggestions, and advice will be most gratefully received - I'm new to both upgrading and a renewing with NIS - so to have to do both at once is a bit "ARGH! What do I do?!?!". :-P

(in the past I've just stuck with the version I had, gone out and bought the 'upgrade' in a sale, or relied on Windows Firewall, but it's not looking like I'm going to be able to do that this time (and I've had enough worrying about only having WF between me teh interwebs))

Thanks in advance,

Scott.
