I recently posted about NIS2010 being out of date and was able to fix this problem by downgrading my router's firmware. I had uninstalled and reinstalled NIS2010 several times and after taking care of the router thing were looking good. However, this morning the first problem I had has come back: I get "3 important messages" from Windows 7 (64-bit) telling me that Norton Internet Security reports that spyware, virus, and firewall are all turned off.
These messages started with the update to version 17.7.0.12. I never saw them with the previous versions. When I look at NIS2010, it tells me things are secure. So, I guess this is just a problem communicating that fact to Windows 7. However, it bugs me to see the red check mark on my screen. The first time I reported this (early June, I think) I was told to uninstall and reinstall, and this worked, but I installed the latest version available 17.6.x.x. -- as soon as the system automatically updates to 17.7.0.12, I get the messages about NIS2010 being turned of or not working correctly.
