NIS2012 - Identity Safe & 2 levels authentications

I have not used IdentitySafe before and was trying it last night......but still in doubt:smileysad:

I do alot of online transactions....my bank's website has 2 different levels of protection.  The first level is where I enter my USER NAME & Birthdate. (Identity safe was able to automatically input the information).

It then pop up a window where a password is needed to be keyed in....this is where the trouble begin.....the identity safe does not seem to work.  It do not automatically input the bank password (because the pop up does not have identity safe feature on it).  So, I have to key in the password myself....which really defeat the purpose of Identity safe.

Worst of all, the pop up refused to let me copy from identity safe...... I had copy my password to notepad and paste it.

Are there any way to work around it.....can I use Identity for pop up window?

P/S:- I think identity safe does not support 2 levels authentications (popup) windows.  My wife's used another bank that has 2 levels authentications, same problem.

Thank you

Above are the banks I used........They have 2 levels of authentications.  All of those, identity safe seems not to be able to perform.

Go to the logins for ebankings.

Please try it and let me know if there are ways that identiy safe can be use.

Thank you

Sure, will work on the URLs and check how Identity Safe handles them.

Thank you....for working on it.

Hope it will not GET LOST in this Community and never get resolved.  I trust Norton will deliver this new challenge.

Have a good day

Same problem here with an Italian Gov. Agency ( http://www.agenziaentrate.gov.it/wps/portal/entrate/home ).  After the first login level (User Name and Password) you have to digit a Pincode to access to the second level menu. In that case I have to use the Firefox password manager that works properly.

I used Keepass password Manager to handle those.  However, since I had NIS, I thought I gave it a try, I am still disppointed that it cannot assist 2 levels authentications.....especially, I thought NIS2012 will be "advance enough" to handle it.

Guess Identiy safe is not really meant for those type of authentications.  I may have to wait for years before that can be done.

Firefox Password Manager....interesting!!!! It is portable as KeePass?  Hush!! Hush!!! different topic!!!!:smileywink:

Hi,

Identity Safe Supports SPLIT LOGIN WEBSITE which is again a 2-Level Authentication technique.

We support Split page login sites where the username field alone in the 1st page and the password will be on the 2nd page

Please try this site:- https://www.site-secure.com/html/sovbank/logon.htm

As of now we support 2-level authentication as mentioned above only for 2 fields.

That's the problem indeed: two fields only. Some websites need 3 fields in one or two pages. FF password manager can do it!!

P.S.: Try this site:  http://www.carifvg.it/scriptIbve/retail20/RetailCarifvg/ita/home/ita_home.jsp

I agree with this. Authentication is getting more and more complex over time as institutions, particularly ones which have highly senstive information such as banks, are adding more layers of security, pop-up windows, etc.

ID safe needs to keep up with these changing trends.

I will add that on some websites link Bank of America, NIS 2012 ID safe seems to work with this one now, where previous versions (even 2011) almost never worked. A step in the right direction. :smileyhappy:

Best wishes.

Thank you all for your assistance.

I guess the best way is to continue the way I have been using for my passwords management.  Without doubt, Norton has shown improvement and although, not always to my liking, but nonetheless, a huge improvement compared to years ago and other AV products.

I understand the complexity of handling all the security for 3rd parties.....something which Symentec cannot always  do.  Even using password managers from browsers, 2 or 3 levels of authentications will not always work.  I expect Symentec will try their best to make them work......it the foreseen future....

Identity safe is not the reason I love NIS....Strong AV, slient Firewalls, good response, etcs.....out weight the Identity Safe problems.  I still love NIS so much so that I have renewed my subsriptions for another 365 days....despite having another 180++ days in NIS2011.  I had also wanted to go for FREE AV, (not renewing for NIS 2012) but cannot resist 2012 and cannot think of using FREE AV for better protections.

Good job Symentec......  Keep up the good work.

Thank you
