I have used this produce for approx a month and have been pleased. Last week though, all activity reporting stopped. When I go to my child's internet, the Online Family is still working and blocking inappropiate sites. Why isn't there any activity reporting? I have looked at a couple of other posts with the same problem, but haven't found a solution.
Hi Clementine,
You said: "When I go to my child's internet, the Online Family is still working and blocking inappropriate sites" Does it mean you logged onto the PC using the child's Windows account, which is monitored?
Do you see the child's profile online is protected at Settings -> Profile?
Please give the child’s user account non-administrator rights(restricted or limited). Also, keep the password for your Norton Online Family away from the child. Otherwise, a monitored child is able to tamper the system.
Thanks,
Katie
Yes, I have logged into my child's account and gone online to see if it will report those sites. I attempted to go to sites that should have been blocked, and they were. The online family norton box shows that it is protected. I am certain my child doesn't have my password, and I change it frequently. This isn't an issue of tampering.
The problem I'm having is with the activity reporting. It doesn't show any activity whatsoever. 'No activity for the past 7 days'. It doesn't reflect the sites my child has gone to or the sites I clicked on that were blocked. Is the lack of reporting simply an attempt to get people to upgrade to the paid version? If not, I would really like a solution as it is frustrating.
Also, the child has non-administrator's rights.
Hi Clementine,
Thanks for the update. It should show the activities.
I would be more than happy to setup a remote desktop access and work together with you on this. You're welcome to send me a private message or an email for details. You can find my email address at http://community.norton.com/norton/profile?user.id=15038
Thanks,
Katie
I had a popup stating that Norton needed a restart. I restarted the computer and it is now reporting properly. Thank you Katie if you fixed it.
Clementine,
I wish I could take the credit, but it was actually the Norton Online Family team sent a live update.
We are glad to hear it worked for you.
Thanks,
Katie
