Well I needed added to the list somewhere I did something wrong think! I have read several of the posts and try a few of the solutions. It didn't work. My computer is a little older. Xp operating system Pentium 3. Running at 500 mh 1 gig memory. What I was trying to do had a small hard drive 8 gb. Install a 160gb. Both drives eide. First try a clone copy program would not see the new HD. OK use Disk Management and format drive. Now ghost would see the new HD as would XP. Where ever it ask for a drive letter I would use none. That what I gather from reading several posts. The program clone the drive. Okay put it back in by itself and try to get it to com up. went through system software configuration screen and went to verfying DMI Pool and hung. Try the Widows 98 boot up disk and use the fdisk /mbr . That didn't work went back on line and found some info about using the recovery panel on my xp install disk, So I invoke the boot repair and try to boot the drive . That didn't work. Went and use chkdsk and HD shows it was ok. Then invoke repair mbr. It stated that I had and non typical boot odd. Went ahead and repair. Nothing got thrash But that didn't work. Back to the boot disk Brought the system up and it show that c: was there and all my files were in place. Put system back together ran ghost and it show that the every thing was here. One odd thing I did notices. The small HD is 32 fat and the new Hd has a 80 gib partition but show that when it clone it was 32 fat which I think would be correct, I was thinking about convening the new pation to ntfs. But I am holding off to see what come from this post. I read in one post that nothing is easy. Amen to that . Does any one might knows what is wrong. Time to turn in I check this tomorrow .
