I’ve had Norton for a week now and have never seen the email progress indicator! It is switched on! I know my outgoing mail is not scanned as its on POP port 587 but my incoming is on the standard 110 port. I’ve had lots of emails all of varying sizes over this last week and yet still no indicator! Can someome please advise ?
The indicator for incoming mail is removed from 2011, so you will not see it anymore.
The philosophy behind it : a program should not bother a user with unneccessay messages/indicators (same philosophy as Windows 7; see the Windows Network connection which is not flashing anymore).
You will however see the [Norton Antispam] indication in your mail headers.
When you activate the progress indicator in mail settings, you only activate the outbound indicator, which will only work on the standard port, as you already discovered.
