No LiveUpdates for more than 8 hours?

I am running NIS 2012 on 2 PC's (an XP, SP3 & a W7, SP1). Opening the NIS Computer Protection History -> LiveUpdate Session history shows that both PC's performed hourly "Automatic" LiveUpdates until approximately 8 & 1/2 hours ago; similarly for the "Identity" Anti-spam definitions.

A manual "Run LiveUpdate" says "Completed" with a green check mark: "LiveUpdate finished - No updates found"...on both PC's.

Is it just me...or is something off line back at Symantec/Norton?

Hi 1mcrtd,

I don't know what the issue is,  but I haven't had any updates (except pulse updates) in around 9 and half hours,  so the problem isn't at your end.

Dave.

According to http://us.norton.com/security_response/definitions.jsp there is a new virus definition update out, but LiveUpdate doesn't pick it up.

Thanks for your responses. For what it's worth, my location is West Coast USA, in case that has anything to do with any specific global Symantec/Norton servers that my LiveUpdates would access. And, it's now been nearly 11 hours since anything has been added to the Update Sessions History.

No, I am in Sweden, and it's the same for me.

Good news!  LiveUpdate 10 minutes ago

Bad news! Norton 2012 Web Protection Definitions Failed to complete (via Automatic and InterActive LiveUpdate 10 minutes later)

Confirming that LiveUpdates were back to normal approximately 1 hour after my last posting above.
