No Log Activity for Sites Accessed Through Google Search

I just install Norton Online Family yesterday and after playing around with it for a while notice something that didn't seem right.  If I access a restricted site directly (type it in the address bar), I get the warning message in the web browse and I also get a message in the "Web" tab in the Manage Activity web site.

 

If I do a Google search for that same site and then click on the link from the Google search, I still get the warning message in the web browser but no message is logged in the "Web" tab. It's as if I never visited the site at all.  I have tried this with multiple sites and never seem to get a message.  To me, this seems to be the more likely way my kids would access a restricted site.

 

As it is now, I am not able to track what web sites my kids access through Google searches.

 

Is this an issue or am I missing some kind of setting that would allow me to get the alert messages?

Since not all of us are IT professionals, what the heck is a "system tray"?

Hi Wombar,

 

The system tray is located in the Windows taskbar (usually at the bottom next to the clock).  Please see the screen shot below.

For a browser, we use Firefox version 11

 

For the Norton Site Minder, we have 2.3.0.18

 

Logged onto my kids accout and noticed that they had tried to visit three sites (there were three tabs that contained the warning page) but I never received any notice message or alert in the management web site.
