Are you running Windows XP SP0 - SP3? What is your drive setup? Do you have 7 different disks with 2 partitions each? Is it a multi-boot system? Specific to the Backup Job you're creating, what is the source drive, and the destination? Are you making a File & Folder backup? A Full Disk Backup? A Recovery Point Set (incremental), or a One Time Backup? I apologize for the questions, I want to be sure we fully understand the problem. Thanks!

I 'm about to do a full clean install of Windows (it has been 4 years since the install was made) I can not find the original Norton internet security 2005 disk. I have updated since, many times and i 'm running Norton Internet 2008 after re-subscriping and downloading the updated. How do I get the software again after doing a full clean windows install this will require my hard drive to be formated. I have checked in the program files>Norton folder but there is no exe file for me to copy over to a removeable media like I have done with most other application that i want to keep.

Thanks gonecrazy

Hi gonecrazy,

If you go to the below site, you can retrieve your activation key for Norton Internet Security 2008:

http://mynortonaccount.com

After writing down this key and reformatting your system, go to the following site:

http://shop.symantecstore.com/store/symnahho/en_US/ContentTheme/ThemeID.106300/pbPage.Trialware_en_US

Download your product, and at the prompt after install for an activation key, enter the one you wrote down. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!

I have a copy of my product key but I have a lot of stored passwords in 'identity safe' is there a way I can export, copy or back up those sites and then reinstall/import back into the clean install of both windows and Norton Security 2008.

Thanks Clive

Hi Clive,

The below document has directions for exporting your password data from Identity Safe:

Thanks!
