In NIS 2009, when turning off Automatic Program Control and turning on Advanced Events Monitoring on, I am simply asked whether or not I wish a program to access the Internet. In some cases I know the answer, but in other cases I don't. This has caused me to revert to turning Automatic Program Control back on.
However, in previous versions of NIS it was possible to choose settings that caused NIS to ask me whether or not I wanted a program to access the Internet AND to offer me a recommended answer. This was perfect. If I knew what I was doing I'd make the decision, and if I didn't I'd defer to NIS's recommendation.
Is it possible to get NIS 2009 to do what previous versions have done in this regard? And if not, why would Symantec remove this very valuable feature?
Thanks.
