I have used sleep mode and system restore in win 8.1 and received the Norton error message about corrupted NIS. Restarting the computer fixed it fine I stopped using sleep mode and clicking NIS quickly before all files load. But a month later my clicking of start scan collapses the screen back to the NIS start display. I click full scan as AV reviews said that method results in more debris being removed if a virus is found and removed as opposed to quick scan. But the scan won't start. So I tried the default quick scan and the screen collapses to the start screen also. I wonder if a macro is clicking the "cancel button" as soon as I click scan? Thanks for any help. I have a screen shot of the process but there is nothing to show as it is just the standard start screen and scan screen then back to the start screen. My subscription status is listed as active I bought NIS about 1 1/2 months ago currently listed as automatic renewal when I just click that. This is my 2nd device out of 2( one a laptop this one a desktop) that I use my Account for NIS with 3 more to go so no problem there. I scan about 2 times a day I don't think Norton would limit that and stop the scan from their side? Problem has run about a 1 hour now last scan was 12 hours ago. I have NIS without auto backup Windows update and live update for NIS are working fine. Thanks
