No VPN on open Wifi without telephone line

First of all: Sorry for my bad English, I’m French!

I’m using Norton Deluxe 360 on my tablet and Android smartphone.

When I am on a open Wifi (Hotel, Restaurant, …) I can’t use Internet because both Chrome or FF say a VPN is needed because it is an unsafe connexion. If I try to connect Norton VPN via Wifi, it doesn’t work.

It only works if I connect via my telephone line on my smartphone (or on my tablet if I insert my sim card on the slot of my tablet). The problem is, One, that I don’t have sim card on my tablet, Second, if I am abroad I can’t use my telephone subscription or pay a lot of money because it’s considered as an international connexion!

Is there any solution, please?

What device and Android version are you using?

Try using the built in browser on your devices to see if they allow connection so you can connect to the VPN.

Thank you. Sorry, I just answer now because I wanted to test again in a hotel with an open WIFI. The conclusion is that it still doesn’t work.

My smartphone is a Samsung S23+ powered by Android V16. For internet, I use Chrome

My tablet is a Teclast M50 HD powered by Android V13. For Internet, I use FF

Bob, this is a long shot but sending it nevertheless for testing on your part. Is it possible, that, on your phone to connect to the open wifi, THEN, create a “wifi hotspot” on your phone and connect the VPN through it? Please test and give us your results. Again its just a theoretical longshot suggestion.

hvad mobil har du på samsung skal du ind og slå det til ellers virker det ikke du skal sige du vil bruge den som vpn du kan finde video på youtube

du skal slå det til da du har en samsung s23 plus auto forbind enable det også virker alt ok på din telefon du skal regne med at den falder ud engang imellem men det er lige meget da den altid vil auto forbinde men de putter nok en bedre update ud der fixer fejl snart plus download og upload speed info plus hurtigste server med info jeg er ikke sikker men husk det er deres giga fejl i norton 360 mobil så det er jo nok det de vil bruge lidt mere tid på men husk det er jo ikke sikker men det kommer nok i næste patch det er ikke sikker men da det er den største fejl vil de nok bruge mere tid på den fejl end normal
