No way to disable WS.Reputation.1?

Okay, I am having a severe problem in that every single .exe file that I download using a certain zipping technology is coming up under this WS.Reputation.1 false detection. Is there ANY way to disable this detection? Because this is getting very old, very annoying and is starting to push my buttons, to put it mildly.

Hi,

    Create a Folder in your desktop and add that folder in the exclusion list of sonar, auto-protect, scans, Download Intelligence.

 

Goto Settings->Computer->Antivirus and Sonar Exclusions->items to exclude from scans

                                                                                                           -> items to exclude from Auto-Protect, Sonar and Download                                                                                                                                   Intelligence Detection

 

Add that folder you had created in the Desktop to the Exclusion list on the above settings.

Turn off smart firewall: settings->Network->Smart Firewall->Turn it OFF

Now you have to Download that file and save it to that new desktop folder you had created

 

# Turn Smart Firewall ON again #

Do not move that file to any other location.Try the above steps

I am sorry to hear about the issue. I would like to get more info and try to resolve the issue you are seeing.

 

1) Please tell me which zipping technology are you using.

2) Which version of the zipping technology.

3) So you have downloaded the zipped file and extracting it and are seeing WS.Reputation.1 detections on each .exe file extracted. Would you be comfortable sharing the zipped file with us so that we can investigate it further ?
