I almost always use Chrome and ever have problems with NOF or Norton Online when using Chrome and the Internet. Recently, I installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 and when I use Chrome, no problems. However, when I try to use Firefox OR Internet Explorer, I get no internet connectivity. I thought that was weird, and if internet works for Chrome, it should work for FF and IE. I thought maybe Kaspersky was blocking it somehow in the other browsers, so I contacted support at Kaspersky and they told me nope, it doesn't do that and to uninstall all my security related software (including NOF and Norton Online). I didn't think that would make any difference, again, because in Chrome things work fine.
So I uninstalled all my other security software, left Kaspersky installed and I got down to NOF and Norton Online that were the only things installed, and still no internet connectivity in FF or IE. Reluctantly, I uninstalled NOF and it also uninstalls Norton Online automatically, rebooted and guess what? IE and FF work just fine. So just for kicks, I reinsalled NOF, rebooted, and IE and FF do NOT work, but Chrome continues to work.
I uninstalled Kaspersky and again, all the browsers work.
So the combination of Kaspersky, and NOF for whatever reason, does not let FF or IE have internet access. Chrome is my "Default" browser, I didn't think to change FF to be my default and see what happens. Anyone else have this problem?
