There is a problem with the Norton Toolbar's placement in the header space of the Firefox browser. First of all, why is its placement not customizeable like other toolbar items that can be arranged in various locations within the header space? Second, why does its location jump around with various version updates of the toolbar & Firefox? Following updates to Firefox and the Toolbar, it may or may not change locations. For example, prior to the latest update to FF 25.0.1 & Norton Toolbar 2014.6.1.2, the Toolbar was located below my navigation toolbar (URL address bar), but now after the update is has jumped up above the navigation bar/below the top menu bar, and pushed the navigation bar down from where it was before. I have seen it move up and then down before on previous updates.
Granted, this is somewhat of a cosmetic issue, but it also interferes with the functionality of other browser features, namely the use of browser background themes and whether they display properly behind the toolbars within the header space. This lack of predictability as well as lack of ability to control its placement like other toolbar items makes it impossilbe to design or use background themes whose elements won't be obscured because of Norton's inflexible & unpredictable toolbar getting in the way and pushing other toolbar items around. For those who prefer FF for its customizability, this can be aggravating indeed to have Norton arbitrarily change your layout of other browser features.
Personally, I would prefer to see the Norton Toolbar located below the navigation toolbar, but better yet, make it a customizable object that can be moved to any desired location in the header space, like other normal toolbars, instead of hijacking a particular space and then changing its location from one version to the next. Very irritating to see Norton hijacking my browser's useful customization features due to its lack of attention to detail, or else a blatant disregard for them.
On a more positive note, I am happy to see that Norton got rid of the silly category folders for filing various web site's login info. This made it unnecessarily time consuming to try and read and then guess which folder Norton decided to file any given website, and invariably resulted in opening multiple folders to find what you were looking for. It always felt like they went out of their way to make it difficult to use. One alphabetized list is much easier, so thank you for that.
