Noron Online Backup Subscription Renewed but still get expired notices

I've been using NOBU for a few years. My subscription was about to expire so I bought a 5 PC 25 GB plan. It shows up in my account just fine and I've activated it from my acccount page.

However, I keep getting popups that say my subscription has expired and my documents are no longer being backed up.

This is not the case, my documents are still being backed up. I can still see them from the NOBU page.

How do I eliminate this message?

Thanks.

Hi DrIndianaJones,

Have you tried activating it NOBU page itself? I'm not sure what's the difference but you can try that though, it might fix the problem.

Yup, tried that. No difference. It says it's successful but the next time I go there it wants to be activated again.

It doesn't really matter I guess since the program still works and my files are being backed up. Kind of funny to come back to my computer though and have two popups in my system tray. One tells me my subscription expired 9 days ago and my files are not being backed. Right below it is another one that says NOBU has successfully completed. If I go to the website to download a file, they're all there.

I emailed tech support (since I've had no success with chat support) and they said to contact chat support. Not a chance. They will just want to uninstall, and reinstall. Once you uninstall you lose all your files and have to start over. That first backup (on 3 computers) takes too long for that.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hi DrIndianaJones,

I've looked into your account and can give you a simple answer. Space doesn't renew like the other Norton subscriptions. When you 'renew' the space it actually creates a new space purchase. That leaves the other package set to expire. It looks like you had at least two terms of space that expired in Sept 2012 too.

I've force expired the renewal messages but they may re-surface if you login to the web. The good thing is they'll permanently expire in 30-days. If you'd like I can see if I can also force expire it a different way but the other method requires a little care. Let me know if you're fine with dismissing the popups or want me to try the other route.

Thanks for your help!

No need to do anything further. I can wait a few days for the messages to go away.

I like the way the program operates but the renewal process for this one is not as tidy as other Norton products I've used.

Thanks again.

No, it's not. It's one of the items that will be improved as updates are made to the service. The subscription piece of it is a bit more complicated to alter so it may take longer to get taken care of. I'll share your message with our team too.
