Hi everyone!

This is very incredible !

I installed in my drive C:, Norton Ghost 14 without any problems. When I try to create the first backup and I have to choose wich hard disk to backup, there is no hard disk C: to choose !!! with Norton Ghost 12 there isn’t problem.

I have two hard disks SATA, first sata where are drive C and D it is a Seagate Barracuda 500 Gb and second where are Drive M and N it is a Maxtor 150 Gb (Please look the attachment). I have Windows Vista Sp1 and MB Asus PK5 Premium Black Pearl.

The disks are not compressed, are not dynamic, and so on… they are simply installed and formatted with NTFS partition.

I tried to uninstall and then reinstall Norton Ghost 14, but nothing change…

I really don’t understand where is the problem…

Thank you for your attention !

thanks I will try. The second method I had already tried but nothing; I have also reinstalled the system but nothing. Norton Ghost 12 work very fine.

That makes us all the more curious.  Since 12 works, 14 should also!

So, if the second method yielded nothing different, then it is not anything with the partition table.

Hi, I have tried with the key F5 but nothing; have I made some logs with SeaST of Norton Ghost 12 and Norton Ghost 14 to which address email I must send them?

Hi freestart,

I have sent you a Private Message (PM - the envelope  in the upper right corner of the forums) with upload information for your seast files. Thanks!

Hi, thanks, I have done; my name file is Norton.Ghost_logs.7z. I hope that you will fix problem, thanks!

Yes, this certainly is very incredible!  You have definitely stumped our developers on this one.  So, three things to try.

First, when you are in this state, what happens when you hit F5?  Does it say scanning drives at the bottom of the Ghost window (not the Drives dialog, but at the very bottom in Ghost itself)?   And does that change anything?

Second, does anything change if you check the box Show Hidden Drives?

Third, we need to have you run the Seast utility. It is located in C:\Program Files\Norton Ghost\Utility folder.  This utility, when you gather support information, will gather system information and log files from your system.  Among them is a debug log that will tell us how Ghost is seeing your system.  I will have someone contact you to make arrangements to get this log to us.  (You might also thrown in your attachment since I'm not seeing it.)

With all of this information, we will work on figuring out what in the world is going on.
