Norton 09 and Alamodes WinTotal Program

Chances are that Im not going to find someone who has the exact problem but at least you will be able to put a face to the program that is causing me much stress.

Let me say first that NAV 09 is one of the BEST AV that I've come across in the last few years.  I am a firm believer in paying for a product will get you MUCH better results then not paying and getting what you pay for...Nothing.

That being said NAV 09 has recently become a pain in backside.  ONLY with this particular instance tho.  I have a small network I look after.  It's a WINDOWS 2003 Server Network, with < 5 work stations, each work station is XP pro, and most recent windows updates.

The problem arose after a WINTOTAL update April first.  The program Uses a Mapped drive to access the server and run an exe from there, and that's the way its supposed to run.  Tho lately when I open the program, it locks up before it fully launches, as well the contents of "My Computer" are not viewable, all I get is an hourglass, and nothing shows.  I have to finally reboot the computer, into seafood, remove the Mapped drives and then reboot into seafood.  Computer then works, until I map and access that program again.

I tried to configure Norton as best I could, and everything I tried (adding the mapped drive to an exclusion list for example) did not work.  Finally at wits end, I removed Norton, something I did NOT want to do, as I had praised NORTON and its ease of use and compatibility.  Upon removal, the WINTOTAL program worked and I was able to then install Norton and it'd work simultaneously.

But it seems that overtime there is a windows update I get the same Issue with Wintotal and My computer, where they both freeze and the computer is rendered useless.

Talk to the folks at ALAMODE and they were basically useless.

Would anyone be able to help me with this, or point out a similar problem that I could test drive on my problem!!??

Thanks, any other info you may need, ask
