Norton 1 Shortcut Pinned to Taskbar - Can't remove

There is a shortcut to Norton One pinned to the Windows 8.1 taskbar that I can't unpin. I just upgraded from NIS to Norton 360. The install did not ask if I wanted a shortcut pinned to the taskbar. Unlike all other shortcuts, there is not option to "Unpin this program from the taskbar". This is in addition to the icon in the Notification Area. How do I unpin this shortcut?

Hi JimDanner

The Norton icon in the taskbar is automatically put there on all versions of Norton and it is there for a quick reference that Norton has loaded and is running correctly when there is a green tick.  You can hide it by right clicking in that area on a space and use the, customise notification icons, click on the icon you would like to hide and select from the drop down menu, but it is recommended that it is left visible.

I am leaving this thread,  good luck with Intesec. even though

Is not what is classed as being pinned to taskbar.

Intesec will have to create the file for you.
