Norton 2009 crashed my computer/ horrible customer service

Hi,

 

I'm posting this out of sheer frustration with my 2 technical assistance calls so far with Norton about the 2009 update.  After installing it last Tuesday, my computer crashed and will not even boot up into safe mode. I called Norton and the only thing they could tell me was to call the computer's maker, HP.

 

HP confirmed that the hard drive is now DEAD - I have no functional computer now.  I called Norton back after the HP confirmation and was told that NOTHING could be done other than giving me a refund for my Norton subscription.  However, he would only put it back on my original card/ account number, and because I moved cross country this summer and closed that bank account, that would be pointless.  He refused to give me a refund any other way.

 

The agent was most unsympathetic and a poor example of customer service.  He could not have cared less.

 

I will never use Norton products again once I buy a new computer, and I just wanted to share my story here.
