Norton 2012 preventing email client from connecting

I installed Norton Internet Security 2012 on my Vista 32-bit computer. I am having several problems, the most critical being that my  email client throws authentication errors when trying to connect with the servers, or gives an invalid id/password error. I'm using Opera for the email, and all seven email accounts are having the problem. Fortunately, my other computers can connect but this is the most heavily used box so I need to fix this quickly. I have tried changing to SSL so that different ports are in play, but no luck.

 

Any thoughts before I start the refund process?
