I just got this laptop, Windows 8 and both my family and I are using it. Since I installed Norton 360, I left it alone and let my family use it. Recently I decided to scan it and it won't scan both quick and full. I tried full, but it skips the full scan and just does the tune up. Can anyone please help me?
Edit: I used the Malewarebytes software and nothing came up.
Edit 2: I used Power Eraser and nothing popped up neither. But when I tried to use the full scan again, it did went through. What's going on?
I'm having the same problem. The only way I get the scans to work is to sign out and sign back in and open the Norton panel. Then when I click on either Quick or Full scan it works. Confusing the heck out of me, and it's simply a real nuisance. I'm running Windows 8 and Norton version which was recently updated to version 20.3.0.36. I ran the AutoFix two different times, and the result came back saying a problem was found. The scans still don't start unless I do the sign out and sign back in process. Hope someone knows what's going on with this problem.
Thank you for any assistance relating to this problem.
Be sure you have run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
Try clicking on Support - Get Support to run Autofix to check your installation and fix what it finds.
Windows 8 is still in it's infancy, and still has compatibility issues. Many here have found reinstalling Norton has fixed their issues. If the above suggestions do not help, you can download and run the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool to get a fresh install of your Norton product.
Download the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool from here www.norton.com/nrnr
If you use Identity Safe, backup/export your data. Use the CSV format for compatibility.
Run the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool.
Reboot.
Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
Try to log into your Identity Safe. If you can, you are done. If not, Import your Identity Safe data.
