You clearly have the patience of a saint helping me as you have done - I just wanted to say thanks and how much I have appreciated the time you have taken.

 

Firstly Live Updater now appears to be working normally - everything has updated this morning as it should have done and it worked at the normal speed I have been used to. Let's hope it stays that way !!

 

Secondly - thanks for the screen shots. Either I do not have any non plug and play drivers or they must be somewhere else. Nothing came up when I followed your instructions which is why I was confused, I have checked again this morning my time and exactly the same. Should I, in fact, have these Norton settings?

Now, in regards to your non-plug and play drivers - remember I said this:  <EDIT>  It just occurred to me, you are on 8.1 - let us know if you run into any difference between 8.1 and these instructions - they do work on Win 7.

 

I have not tried these instructions on Win 8.1 - so there appears to be some differences.  I will work at getting someone on Win 8.1 to find out where the non-plug and play drivers are located - if there.
