Norton 360 22.9 bug affecting explorer.exe

   Under special circumstances explorer.exe gives this error message: “Proxy Desktop: Explorer.exe - Unknown application error (0x40000015)”.

   To reproduce the bug do the following:

  1. ‘Tools > Folder Options > View > Launch folder windows in a separate process’ checkbox is set on.
  2. Close all windows.
  3. Create a shortcut to any non-empty folder and place it on the Desktop.
  4. Open that folder via created shortcut.
  5. Right-click any object to show its context menu.
  6. Close the folder window.

   If aforementioned checkbox is set off the error message doesn’t appear.

   The bug was introduced in the version 22.9 of Norton 360.
