Norton 360 Activation Issue, and SymLMTS.exe messed my computer up

OK, this is REALLY pissing me off.  I cannot continue to attempt to solve my problem because I can't uninstall Norton 360 in the first place.  Want to know why?  That stupid Windows Installer error that only cropped up after I ran SymLMTS.exe!!!

What does SymLMTS.exe do to my system?  What kind of information does it retrieve?  What changes does it make to my system?  Why does the Windows Installer not work?  Why does my computer not boot quite properly every time I turn it on?

This is VERY frustrating!!!  Can ANYone please answer my questions?!

Hi AJP15243,

Our Customer Support team that is available through the FREE CHAT feature is a highly skilled team, and work on issues like your everyday. What we sometimes forget on these forums is that people who have poor experiences tend to be more vocal about their poor experience, while those with good ones...tend not to reply because they don't need our help anymore. I would HIGHLY recommend contacting our Customer Support team to start a chat session. They would be able to access your system to troubleshoot the issue directly.

Alright, I'll try the chat support, you do make a good point about good/bad experiences.

I'm mainly looking for a repair to my Windows Installer and boot problem, but if they can fix my Norton problem too, that'd be great.  Failing fixing my Windows Installer/boot problem though, I'm reformatting regardless of my Norton problem's status, because I can't function with a computer that can't reliably start up while in college, and I leave in a few days.

Well, I can't install the Symantec Live Chat update because my Windows Installer (MSI I believe, for I assume Microsoft Installer) is shot to hell. Doesn't that mean I can't have the agent directly connect to my system? I'm going to go ahead and try the link that skips downloading that, though, and hopefully some solution can come up.

Well, thank you agent Joydeep for immediately ending my chat session right after starting it.  One frustrating thing after another… I hate to sound like I’m whining or something, but what seemed like a simple issue to solve has ballooned into a ridiculously complex, aggravating, and debilitating problem.

Hi AJP15243,

Our team will be contacting you shortly to help you resolve this issue. I apologize for the inconvenience, and we hope to fix this problem for you as quickly as possible.

OK, I’ve been e-mailed by Jean McKenzie.  Thanks for the individual support!  I don’t know what you all can do for me at Symantec to help my Windows Installer problem (or even my weird boot problem), but I’m hoping to at least fix Norton.  My Windows Installer problem may require a reformat, which I am not looking forward to, but hopefully not.

Please help as I have a same type of issue........

Eric

My problem name is
