While Android 16 officially launched in June 2025, the global Android ecosystem remains highly fragmented. According to Google’s official platform distribution numbers, Android 15 is currently the most widely used version.
If you want to check if the update is ready for your specific device, go to your phone’s Settings > System > Software Update to check for any pending installations.
and you clean reinstalled Norton 360 for Android?
If your Norton 360 app for Android is requiring you to reactivate it every few days, it is usually caused by a communication glitch between the app on your phone and Norton’s licensing servers.
Why This Happens
Aggressive Battery Optimization: Android operating systems frequently put background apps to “sleep” to save battery. If Android aggressively kills Norton’s background processes, the app can lose its temporary authorization token and require a fresh login to re-verify your subscription.
Corrupted App Cache or Data: Over time, cached credentials within the app can become corrupted, making Norton “forget” that you have already signed in and validated your license.
Outdated System Components: Norton relies on core Android tools like Android System WebView to handle its secure login screens. If WebView or Google Chrome is outdated, the sign-in token may fail to save properly.
Account Sync Mismatch: If you signed in using your Norton Account but originally purchased the app directly through the Google Play Store (or vice versa), the app may struggle to maintain a continuous license check.
How to Fix It
To stop the constant activation loops, follow these troubleshooting steps:
1. Exclude Norton from Battery Optimization
Open your phone’s Settings and go to Apps (or Apps & Notifications ).
Tap on Norton 360 .
Tap on Battery (or App Battery Usage ).
Change the setting from Optimized or Restricted to Unrestricted . This prevents Android from closing the app and deleting your active session.
2. Update Core Android System Components
Open the Google Play Store.
Tap your profile icon in the top right and select Manage apps & device .
Check for updates and specifically look for Android System WebView and Google Chrome .
Install any available updates and restart your phone.
3. Clear the App Cache and Force Stop
Go back to your phone’s Settings > Apps > Norton 360 .
Tap Storage and select Clear Cache . (Do not clear data unless you are ready to log back in).
Go back one screen and tap Force Stop . Reopen the app and log in one more time.
4. Perform a Clean Reinstall
If the issue persists, the internal activation files are likely bugged.
Long-press the Norton 360 icon and select Uninstall .
Re-download it from the official Norton 360 Google Play Store Page .
Open the app, tap Sign In , and make sure you use the exact method you used to purchase it (either your Norton Account credentials or Sign in with Google if bought through the Play Store).
May be best – to document/report “issue” directly via Norton support.
