Norton 360 automatically opens start site after Windows 11 system startup since version 26.6.
This is meanwhile a well known issue.

Itâs still not fixed at all.
Furthermore, Norton support defines it as an issue with individual PCs.
I believe the root cause lies in the Norton software itself.
I urgently request a bug fix.

This definitely isnât an issue with individual PCs. It happened to a second device from me too as soon as version number hits the 26.6. And a lot of people experiencing the same problem since. Itâs not a big issue but one can assume to have this little bug fixed after two months. At least as long there is no switch to turn the annoying popup off.
Today, about two hours after booting up my PC, the menu screen suddenly opened!
Of course, the menu screen became active while I was working, and my work came to a halt!!!
The menu screen opening automatically at irregular intervals causes significant damage and losses!
The bug has gotten even worse with version 2.68.
This is a major problem; the damage is serious.
The developers should fix this bug immediately.
Support staff, please also inform the developers!
Can you post a screenshot of the Norton window that pops up? Seeing just what is displayed may help diagnose what might be triggering the interface to display.
This also affects windows 10 PCs as well. I have 2 different Win10 systems in completely different households, one is my PC and another is a relativesâ. After installing Norton Security 26.8.11125 yesterday, both are now having the the main 360 application screen / menu pop up randomly. Not sure when it happens as Iâll be away from the computer with the screen in power saving mode / screen saver ⌠but when I return to use my PC, N360 is open on my desktop. My relative running N360 is reporting the same. This started on my Win10 system after the install of 26.8.11125 yesterday.
I donât believe itâs an individual install issue as weâve got 2 PCs in different houses seeing the same issue after the update.
@Brocktoon @Rickone @SEKIRAM I had not seen this issue until a few minutes ago while checking my mail order pharmacy site. Right in the middle of a transaction Norton decided its a smart time for a sell-up notice and opens the main UI right in my face. Amazing!! This is on my Windows 10 Pro machines which I use daily. With all the other nuisances its hard to imagine this being a bug or a fluke. I havenât seen this before the latest update, that was just a couple of days ago. IF, I had wanted Scam Protection I would have already enabled it right? Naah. This version seems to have a mind all its own.

I received an email from Norton support instructing me to perform a factory reset (clean install) of the OS, which I did. (It was a lot of work.)
The result? It didnât fix the problem!!!
The bug immediately reappeared even after the clean install.
This is not a problem with individual PCs.
Based on these results, I urge the developers to fix the bug as soon as possible.

@Rickone In the first post of the thread there is a link there where we escalated this issue to Norton. The link is NOT accessible by other forums users because it is a private area so you wonât be able to review it. This issue has been escalated. Its NOT isolated, I have now had my second instance just a few moments ago when logging in for the first time this am. Hoping Norton move on from these scare tactics and forcing the need to run Smart Scans just to present a sell-up to correct issues that may or may not be there.

Been happening here since the update, actually just saw it a few minutes ago. Home window, same as everyone else. Not an isolated thing at all. Needs to be fixed.

Same problem. Itâs a right pain. Iâm going to cancel my Norton subscription.
Everyone: I too am seeing these every time I log into my computers. The issue was reported just 6 days ago and escalated per the link at the bottom of the opening post by the OP. Please give Norton the benefit of review and making changes. They are capable of pushing emergency updates in the background that we wonât see happening. Just my suggestion.

Having the exact same issue. My Norton 360 updated on August 18 and ever since, every morning at 2:30 am the user interface pops open for no apparent reason. The first couple of times I thought I had hit it by accident so after that second time I started making a note of when it happens and it is at 2:30 am every morning (Iâm a night owl). There are no tasks set that would make it do this and all scans are run manually. One other thing that has started happening is when I run a scan it always shows the screens of all the problems it found that are slowing down my computer, offering to sell me Norton Utilities. I used to be able to just click âSkip The Fixâ and then close the tab in the top right corner and it would go back to the main interface. Now every time I try to close it it goes back to the âSkip The Fixâ page. I have to close the program and re-open it where it then continues to say âSee Detailsâ instead of it normally saying âRun A Quick Scan. The only way to get rid of that is to restart the computer but as soon as I run a scan again I am back to that same loop. I am really not interested in purchasing Norton Utilities and hope they get this glitch fixed soon.

Mine does it for no reason, I can be sitting doing something else, not even touch the computer and Iâll see it pop open on itâs on. No tasks or scan set to run, all done manually and it is happening every morning at 2:30 am, tracked it now at that exact time for days now.
Exactly and now the sell up page will not let me âSkip The Fixâ, when I click to skip it takes me to the page where you could then close it and it would return to the UI but now when I click to close that page it just goes back to the Skip The Fix page. This does not clear on the UI either, I have to restart the laptop to return it to the state where it says Run A Smart Scan where if I donât restart it keeps saying See The Details. So that it two things it has started doing every day since I got the most recent update on August 18/26
Interesting as I checked yesterday on this PC and my other 2 via remote and the pop was at 5PM-same time. One is a Surface Win 11 the other HP Win 10.
