Hello, may I ask whether the Norton 360 backup feature does not support EFS encrypted files?
How do I set it to find every file type in the settings? Or do you mean manually selecting all of the folders by using the add folder button? I selected every folder and it showed up under additions and exclusions, I also had everything in both of my drives checked. Please explain some more if it isn’t a problem.
By the Backup settings (What? section) if you click on the Other File Types, you should be able to select other filetypes too.
But if you would like to backup a whole partition I would suggest you to try Norton Ghost 14. It is a much better backup solution, and has many great features, like saving the partition as a virtual hdd file (can be use with virtual pc). You can get the trial of it here: http://nct.symantecstore.com/fulfill/0184.074
But when the trial ends I won’t be able to restore my stuff will I?

If you like the product, and it can offer you everything you wanted, and 360 was not capable to do them, you can buy it.
Or reinstall windows, and install the trial again....
Hi. I'm trying to back up my hard drive to an external one. I set it to back-up every item, I even go to the add new folder tab and add everything basically. No matter what I do, it still says I have around 600mb of stuff. No, I don't have 600mb. I have over 100gb, and all of it must be backed up, not just 600mb. So, I run the back-up thinking it's some sort of glitch or something and what do you know? It's done in like two minutes. I then checked my external for the files and find that only 500mb was backed-up. What do I need to do? My external has over 400gb left, so space isn't the problem. Thanks.
Matt
Hi claytote,
Welcome to Norton Forums.
Norton 360 will skip backup of encrypted files. You will see the list of encrypted files not backed up in the results page.
Thanks,
