Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems that no matter what folders I include or exclude from a backup set, Norton 360 backups up all of the files of the file types I have told it to backup irregardless of what higher level folder they are in.
This is a problem, because I would like to have a series of backup sets, ones with files of high importance or frequent change running frequently, and the other low importance/ low frequency backups running less frequently. I'm backing up a laptop using an external drive, so running the automatic backup on everything is not a good solution for me.
Right now, it appears that running several backup sets results in several nearly complete copies of the backup to my external drive.
Also, from what I can tell from the miniscule amount of direction offered by the help section, when I include a folder all the files in that folder should be backed up no matter what file type they are. However, that does not appear to actually be happening. This is a huge pain, because I use a wide variety of graphics and 3-d modeling programs with an even wider variety of file types, and manually adding each file type to the backup would be a huge pain. Not to mention that if I were to start using a new program and forgot to add those file types to Norton.
Is there a straightforward way for me to set up backup sets that are only folder specific? Please?
I'm running Windows Vista UItimate 64 bit with Norton 360 version 4.2.0.12
