Norton 360 conflict with AVG2013

AVG2013 allowed a malware infection into my pc, HP Pavilion a4316fb, using windows7 OS. So I went out and baught Norton360 today, I first uninstalled AVG2013 and a window opened saying AVG2013 was successfuly removed and the pc restarted. I installed Norton360 and a window opens saying there is a "conflict" and I need to uninstall AVG2013, so I click "uninstall" and the control panel opens and sure enough there is AVG2013 on the list. so I uninstall again, reboot again and the same thing just happens over & over, Why is AVG2013 not uninstalling???? Norton is not letting me run a scan to get rid of the malware until the AVG2013 is out!

HELP!

Try the AVG Removal tool from the AVG website, there is a 32 bit and 64 bit version, choose the right one for your OS.

Be Aware installing an AV including Norton on to a already infected system may cause problens due to the Malware working, maybe part of the reason why AVG won't uninstall nicely.

Are you uninstalling AVG from a Windows account with administrator privileges?

Then after uninstalling from Control panel, go to the AVG web site to download and run the removal utility. That will get rid of any remnants of AVG that can be left behind from a regular uninstall.

Then you can run your 360 installer.

How do I verify 34 or 64 bit?

One way is Start > Control Panel > System > System Type

OK, first of all Merry Christmas everyone! The effort to remove AVG from the site link worked and needed to also uninstall & reinstall Norton 360 and that also worked, However! I still have 2 virus's which wont go away. 1) Trojan.patchep!sys and 2) Trojan.zeroaccess!inf4

Both infections according to Norton "require manual removal" which I know nothing about or how to do it. So it's safe to say I still need HELP!

Merry Christmas

If Quads does not come back to this thread, start a new thread with the trojan names in the subject line.

I accept that the first 3 reply messages were all done within 1 minute of each other (all typing at same time), but I gave a install Norton on infection warning, thread carried on, and Norton has been installed uninstalled installed again.........................

make things harder, so I will not be touching the system with the play around with Norton on top of a infected system.

Good Luck
