Norton 360 Everywhere will not download on the mobile

I have a couple of PCs with Internet Security 2012, and I just bought a couple of smartphones. I purchased Norton 360 everywhere so I can cover all appliances. The purchase process went fine and I attempted a download on the Samsung Galaxy S3 (Android 4.0.4).

I am new to using Internet on a phone, I just went to my Norton account and click the Download button next to where it says there are 5 "available installs". A new window open with  one button saying "download for Android now". I clicked that button (or rather "tapped") that button, but nothing hapens. Is there some phone funky gesture I am not aware one?

There is one doubt I have. When I made the purchase I have seen the word "upgrade" being in some context. I hope it does not mean that a previous Norton product has to be installed. BTW, I have not installed any other anti-virus related apps and none seem to be pre-loaded.

I have not tried to download/install on a PC in case I have to ask for a refund if I cannot install it. Anyone has installed this product on a obile.

My apologies if I am in the wrong forum.

Hi smithy,

I went through the download process again this morning as my session had expired. I have not seen any notification icon or any entry in the notification list. No entry in the Samsung download app. It's good you mentioned these as I am not familiar with phone UI.

I had enabled third party apps installation and I used the pre-installed Android browser. I have had for a few days, mainly learning. I installed a few trusted apps without problems. Installing Norton was a priority before I do more online stuff.

I was able to start the download of a Norton anti-virus trial software. It allowed me to see the download process when it works. I'll try the installation later on the other mobile I just got which is a Samsung Q on Android v2. I guess I can also try to download on a desktop PC.

Thanks a lot, I'll post with any findings I make.

I finally managed to successfully install and activate N360E on both mobiles. I went through the download process on my Linux box (for which, ironically, there is no version of the software). There, I was offered three choices:

  1. Your Product : Norton 360 Premier v6
  2. Your Product : Norton Internet Security 5 for Mac
  3. Your Product : Norton Mobile Security 2012

Each choice has a large icon and a button labeled "Download for PC" or MAC or Android. I click on the Android choice and the next web page displays a crippled code to be scanned or a URL to be entered on the mobile: norton.com/NMS-N360E. I used this URL on the mobile and I was offered a web page with instructions to download and install.

Having seen a successful install, I can see now where the problem is when going through the process on the mobile. I only get one choice, but it looks crippled:

  1. Your Product :

The name of the product and the Android icon are missing. The button "Download for Android" does not lead to the next and final installation page. Nothing happens.

As with any workaround, once you find it, it's easy. Hopefully this will help others.

Thanks for your help!

PS: currently N360E is on promotion at $69.99 in Canada.

Hi gnadon

I am very happy that you now have your Android devices protected with Symantecs

Norton Mobile Security. :smileyhappy:

Apologies if i may have confused things by asking the Moderator to move the thread

to the Norton 360 forum, but the only posts in the Norton Community Forum which

were about 360 Everywhere and Android use were moved to the N 360 forum.

So i think your thread is a good one for the Mobile Security forum as i have learnt how

to assist people with downloading and installing NMS for N 360 Everywhere now.

So the steps to install Norton Mobile Security for Norton 360 Everywhere would be as

follows from what i can find with some testing- :-)

The link for Nortons Android protection with Symantecs Norton 360 Everywhere package

is below.

http://www.norton.com/nms-n360e

So if you click on the link above the  PC user is given a QR code to scan with a app like

Norton Snap. (The QR code for Norton Snap is below) on the Android device.

Or to manually type the URL  norton.com/NMS-N360E  into the Android devices internet

browser.

Both the QR code and URL methods on a Android device will direct the user  to a page

to select the preferred language. Then be directed to the Norton server to download the

Norton Mobile Security apk file.

Which is then installed with the device settings in Applications or Security enabled to allow

Non-Market application installs.

Open the NMS app and  select Activate Now and use either the product key from the retail

package or from the users Norton Account to activate the NMS product. (Not 100% sure

on the product key as i have not  tested N360 Everywhere yet.)

Normally  it depends on weather the product was bought as a retail package or from the

Norton Online Store or if it has already been activated on another device as to where the

activation product key is found.

Now complete the security of Norton Mobile Security is fully activated.:smileyhappy:

Thanks again for that feedback and info gnadon on the Norton 360 Everywhere product for

Android devices i am sure it will be very helpful to other forum users.:smileyhappy:

Cheers.:smileywink:

Hi all

Just to add to the install instructions  for Norton 360 Everywhere Android protection.

These instructions are for first time install of the retail product Norton 360 Everywhere

that has not yet been registered to a Norton Account or installed on any devices.

With the retail pack you have purchased of N360E use the QR code or the URL provided

with the package or from the post above to download and install the N360E apk file.

Open and install the download of NMS and when asked to Activate Now enter the 25

digit product key with no spaces.

Then if the user already  has a Norton Account login with those details when asked

or create a new Norton Account to register the product and device.

Cheers.:smileywink:
