I have Norton 360 installed on two Win 7 machines, a desktop and a laptop.
I just did an uninstall including running the removal tool, and a fresh install of Norton 360 on the laptop.
Firewall Setting on the desktop and laptop have never been modified.
The laptop can access the Windows Homegroup on the desktop, but the Desktop cannot access the Homegroup on the laptop.
If I disable the laptop smart firewall, the desktop can access the Homegroup on the laptop. So it is the laptop firewall that is blocking.
Norton Network Secuity Map on the desktop can see the laptop and the trust level is shared.
Network Security Map on the laptop can see the desktop and the trust level is "Use Network Trust protected" , "Shared" is NOT listed as an option on screen. Changing the trust option to Full Trust does not resolve the issue.
I can see the firewall rejecting the traffic: Rule reject UDP(17) traffic. Firewall Rule: Default Block UpnP Discovery
Firewall Settings on the laptop were intentionally set back to default, even though I have never modified them, this made no difference.
Any help to resolve this will be appreciated.
