My Norton 360 backed up when I first installed it last month and last backed up on 6th Dec. 2012, it is the latest edition and there is plenty of space left for my online backup. It will not backup manually or automatically. I have gone on line and tried to enable it using my online Product Key without success.
Norton says there is a problem, which it will look at immediately, is there a problem with backup at the Norton end?
Message says; "unable to back up at this time try again later" when I try to enable it.
I have tried to enable the online backup from my account, it says "We are unable to proceed with Norton account at this time. Please try later".
I have re-installed Norton a couple of times without any success, it is the latest version.
I did have another account up until it expired a month ago with a different email address on the same computer and I installed Norton with the same details except for my present email address.
Every thing worked ok and the Backup worked until a couple of days ago! that's why I wondered if it was a problem at your end?
It says it is not activated but will not let me activate.

Norton 360 Premier started getting this message last week. I get the same message about activation, but it was activated and was working even after the update to the new look
There may an issue with the account but I need to check into the overall issue first. Let me do a little research and I'll post back the results shortly.
I also am having the same errors about "unable... time....later." and "0 space". I purchased extra space, and messages continue... Problem may have started whem Utilities 16 was installed on Windows 8.
I have an answer on the matter. It appears there is an issue with the current Norton 360 release. It is preventing online backup from correctly working in some instances. There will be a patch released in January after it completes testing. The best thing to do is wait till then. Once its released you can contact support and request your term be extended to cover the time you couldn't use it.
Online backup returns "error" details states my acct. is in maintenance. 12-30-12 Norton Support suggested I do a "New Version Check". I did this, and backup returned same error. 1-2-13 Norton Support agent remote control over my PC, could not fix backup. I was handed me off to a "Case Manager", he did a remote control over my PC and could NOT fix backup error. He then made copies of the error files and said he was turning them over to the group that maintained the backup file servers (problem not at my end). I was told I would rec. a call/e-mail in 24-48 hrs. Norton has yet to respond, I did an opt-out on auto-renewal (expires 1-23-13). A company is only as good as their ability to fix their problems. I've been a customer for 3 yrs, if Norton does not fix this, my dollars are going else where.
Send me your case ID and the email address associated to your account so I can check into it. It's hard to say with 100% certainty if the issue you're getting is related to a maintenance issue or an account issue separate till I look at your account specifically.
I've checked the account and it appears all is fine in regards to the actual backend part of things. Let's try the following and see if it resolves the issues with the backup part. In regards to the other issues you're now seeing that is unrelated to this matter. The backup functionality is technically separate from the security features. Let's see if we can fix the backup issue and then we can move forward on the other matters.
Open Norton 360's main client.
Click on Manage on the right hand side.
Click on Log Out located to the right. It is a darker grey color so it may be a little hard to see.
Once done close Norton 360 and re-open it.
Go back to Manage again and re-login to the Norton Account.
Once completed go back to the main Norton 360 screen and click on Backup.
Click on Restore Files.
Click on View All
There will be a link on the bottom of the next screen that says Refresh List.
It'll connect to storage from there and retrieve the past history.
Select the set and click Close.
Close out of Norton 360 and give the system a restart to be safe.
Once its back up verify if online backup has properly activated.
Thanks Wesley, that seems to have solved the problem with my backup. Seems you need to load Norton Management, pity they did not include that in the update or give a message.
