Norton 360 has stopped working

While trying to install the update to norton 360 v3.0, the application stops working. any suggestions on how to overcome this problem?

Are you trying to run the LiveUpdate from Norton 360 3.0 or just trying to install Norton 360 3.0 Upgrade?

What is the exact error message that you get?

 

If you are trying to install Norton 360 3.0 Upgrade, try the following steps:

1. Download a Trialware of Norton 360 3.0 from this Symantec Web Page.

2. Go to this LINK and follow the instructions for remove the failed installation using Norton removal tool. Run the tool multiple times.

3. You can install the trialware and activate it using the same product key of Norton 360. Run LiveUpdate repeatedly until you see the message that no more updates are available.

Have you tried running Norton Remove and Reinstall tool? BTW, which operating system are you using? Windows 8+? If so, disable the fast startup setting your system and, make sure that your Windows is current as well. Meantime, plz ensure your system's "date & time" setting is correct and up-to-date.

If your issue persists, follow the steps below:

  • If you're also using other security program/ some "system booster", uninstall that item temporarily & thoroughly for troubleshooting purpose.
  • Check your local disks for potential bad sectors or, errors. See details here.
  • Run your Windows in its Safe Mode, and scan using your N360 there.
  • Try Spybot - Search & Destroy Portable to scan your system in Safe Mode later.
