Norton 360 Icon disappear

Norton 360 Icon disappear .

I have WIN 7 with Firefox 8.

After boot the  360 Icon is there and suddenly he disappear.

I don't know if the 360 still protecting when the icon is gone ...

Any advice please.

everything  is normal while the 360 is on. (everything is in green).

Hi ronenhaim,

I not sure what Icon you refer to.  Is it the Icon that displays in the notification area (Bottom right corner) of the Task Bar?  Personally,  I use the Norton Gadget that can be found by right clicking anywhere on the desk top,  click Gadgets.  There you can right click the gadget and select add.  You will then have a very visual display of Norton 360.  It can be dragged to anywhere you like.  Lets us know if you need more help.

Hello ronenhaim,

Do you see a small triangle in the notification area?  Notification area.PNG

 

If you click that,  then select customize,  you can then find Symantec Service Framework.  Click that and you have an option to Show Icon And Notification.  The Icon should now not disappear.  :smileyhappy:

I t seems that 360 doesn't work at all !!!

I don't have the Identity safe on my Firefox

I don't have the  Icon on Symantec Service Framework in  select customize...

I can see "Safe Web" ?  on my firefox instead of Identity safe.

I am trying to open 360 from the menu but it doesn't open

I can't open anything .

 

Is there a way to self checking 360 ?

Please try to remove the program with the Norton Removal Tool, and then reinstall it.
Here are the steps:
1. If you use the feature, please backup your Identity Safe data (Settings -> Identity Protection -> Backup)
2. Download latest Norton 360 installer (only the edition you bought):
- www.norton.com/n360s_5 Standard with 2GB Online Storage
- www.norton.com/n360p_5 Premier with 25GB Online Storage
- www.norton.com/n360sne_5 Standard Netbook Edition with 2GB Online Storage
- www.norton.com/n360pne_5 Premier Netbook Edition with 25GB Online Storage
- for other languages please go to the Norton Update Center and select manual product selectoion + change the language on the site's top: www.norton.com/nuc
3. Download Norton Removal Tool: www.norton.com/nrt
4. Disconnect from internet
5. Remove Norton 360 version from Start Menu or from Control Panel -> Add or Remove programs
6. Reboot
7. Run the Norton Removal Tool, reboot (repeat it 2-3 times)
8. Install Norton 360 version 5 with the previously downloaded installer
9. Reconnect to the internet
10. Activate Norton 360 version 5
11. Run Live Update until you get no new updates
12. Restore your Identity Safe data (Settings ->Identity Protection -> Restore)

    Just adding a little info. Please do system Disk Check to clear out Bad File Clusters, Sometimes the culprit can be a Bad sector in the hard drive which might have corrupted the Norton360 files.

To do a Disk Check goto Start->Programs/All Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt->Right click 'Run as Administrator'

 -> chkdsk /r /f   hit enter -> Y->Restart the Computer and let the disk check Run. Then check the Norton icon, if it is still not working then you can go ahead and follow the instructions given by PapauZ
