Why is it that all of a sudden I have extreme difficulty to access Norton 360. It is as if someone is preventing me to open Norton 360. When I finally can, Norton is telling my that my system is at risk. I click on Fix now and it is not able to fix it. I go to Manage Firewall, Intrusion and Browser protection, and I find Intrusion protection Off. I click it back on, click Apply and it goes back off. Why is it that Norton cannot take care of itself.

My Norton 360 version is supposed to be the latest as I am told when I query Norton. It is version 20.4.0.40.
I ran a full system scan. The results are as follow : Live Update secure, Full system scan : No threats found. Tune up Secure. Disk optimization Secure. And yet, still Norton tells me: Your network and web protection are at risk.
I had a Kaspersky for a short while four and a half month ago. I removed it. As far as I know, I removed it all. Norton functioned more or less OK. since I removed it.
Hi MB_07
As peterweb has suggested, can you go to Kaspersky’s main website and get the removal tool for Kaspersky, down load it,
Run the removal tool.
Restart the computer.
This should clear any debris that may be causing a conflict with Norton.
Can you check on the computer clock that the following are correct?
The time?
The day?
The month?
The Year?
The time zone?
Its written like this because in the past people check the time only and one of the others is incorrect and is causing problems for the Norton product.
To check the above click on the clock in the task bar, on the dialogue box that opens click on, change date and time settings.
Check for Norton updates manually or right click the Norton icon in the task bar and click, run live updates, and then recheck until there are no more updates restarting the computer as requested.
Try running autofix by clicking the Norton icon, click support, click get support (or right click the Norton icon in the task bar and click Get support) let it run then restart the computer. It should tell you if any items where fixed. If you get an error message about MBAM then just click on skip on the error screen.

Hi,
Just in case; save your identity safe data before doing any of the listed suggestions
You can check here
http://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/
to see if there's a removal tool for the old security product. If there is please run it. You may also need to use the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool
to clean up your copy so that it works correctly. You will have to run live update after the RnR run to bring the new copy up to the minute
Keep us posted
Problem went away on its own. When I turned the computer on this morning, the problem was gone. The only thing that I might have done is to run live update before turning it off last night. Although, at the time, it was still indicating that my computer was still unsafe.....weird.
Anyway, I will kept the suggestions up my sleeve because I would not be surprised that the problem will resurface one of those days........you know one of those days when you need your computer the most.
Thanks anyway

Glad to hear things seem to be OK again.
Do you turn the computer off every night? Restarts have been known to fix all kinds of computer ills.
